Everton made an approach for the Watford boss on Monday morning, but they were refused permission to speak with Silva, as the Hornets insisted their manager would be staying at Vicarage Road.
Due to the fact that the Portuguese coach doesn't have a release clause in his contract, it looks like Everton's efforts to secure his services could be over, although according to 'Sky Sports', Silva would be interested to talk to the Merseyside club.
Kabasele, who has been a regular in Watford's defence under Silva this season, has said the club should take any means necessary to ensure his manager doesn't leave.
He told 'Sky Sports': "Everybody could see he changed a lot of things in the team. We had quite a lot of the same players but we improved a lot. That means he worked very well with us.
"When you have somebody like this and other teams are looking for him it's important that Watford try to do everything possible to keep him."
