Warnock has begun a war of words with upcoming opponents Manchester City by criticising the behavior of their players during what became a heated clash between the sides last year.
Warnock even appeared to suggest that the City players were guilty of hypocrisy, as they themselves produced a few dubious challenges of their own during the side's previous meeting.
In his pre-match press conference, Warnock also highlighted the seemingly unbalanced media reaction to the events last year, after Cardiff's Joe Bennett was chastised for his behavior, while City's Kevin De Bruyne's high tackle was overlooked.
Expressing his annoyance at the affair, Warnock stated: 'There were one or two naughty things we didn't get and everybody wrote about the one tackle that Benno knows was a disgrace. De Bruyne didn't even get booked, but he caught his knee badly."
In spite of the strong words, Warnock did acknowledge that he was in agreement with opposite number Guardiola regarding an increased protection of players.
