Walter Bou's 90th-minute overhead kick winner favourite for Puskas award

89th minute at the Nestor Diaz with 2-2 on the scoreboard between Lanus and Tigre. A competitive match in which Salvio had been the star for the home side. Only in the blink of an eye, Walter Bou snatched that prominence away from 'Toto'. Well deserved, as he scored one of the goals of the year. One that is already among the favourites to win the next Puskas Award.

Sanabria, who was leading the build-up play, fed Bou near the edge of the box. The striker, who had almost gone too far, pulled his body back and lifted the ball with his chest. With that movement, he gained the necessary distance from his defender. He used that first contact to bring the ball up.

Then you could predict what he was going to try. With a sequence worthy of Rivaldo, the Argentinian performed a bicycle kick from a long way out, from the edge of the box, and struck the ball to the far post. The Tigre goalkeeper was nowhere near expecting such a response.

Bou's strike was not perfect, but it took just enough of a curve to loop over the keeper, whho could only look on as one of the favourites for the next Puskas award.
