Theo Walcott spent 12 years under the guidance of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, and he has recently shared his thoughts on the Frenchamn's departure from the North London side, as well as what he thinks Wenger will do next in his career.
On the 'BBC Premier League Show' Walcott discussed the influence of his former coach on his career, saying: "He’s a father figure, he gave me the opportunity at a young age, took the pressure off me and put it on himself when he didn’t need to do it."
Walcott continued to add that he feels that Wenger is not ready to walk away from the game just yet, stating: "I’m pleased with what I contributed to his career. I still think he's got unfinished business and there's a missing chapter for him."
However great his admiration for Wenger is, Walcott was keen to quash any talk of him following the Frenchman's footsteps in the managerial realm.
On the topic of turning to management after he retires Walcott insisted: "'I don’t think I will go into management, it’s not for me. I like working with children, maybe a striking coach with kids or something. Possibly a bit of TV as well."
The winger left Arsenal for the blue of Everton in January, citing more regular game time as the reason for ending his 12 year stay in North London.
Since his move, Walcott has settled well on Merseyside, scoring 6 goals in 27 appearances; 3 of which have come in the 11 games at the start of the current Premier League campaign.
And after the good start to life at Everton, the winger insisted he is far from the end of his playing days, saying: "I’ve got a good six or seven years left in me. I look after myself well, my kids keep me healthy."
Walcott concluded: "I'm happy with the start of the season. The last few games we haven’t taken our opportunities. I want to get 15-20 goals this season and as a team I want to be in the top six. I genuinely think we can."
