The 'Clarets' swooped to sign last season's Championship top scorer during the summer, paying Derby a fee thought to be in the region of £11m for his services.
Burnley have scored just four goals in the regulation 90 minutes of their seven games so far this season, but Dyche is confident that they will improve on that front and that Vydra can play a big part in doing so.
"We really want to get Vyds involved in the group, he's not quite there yet," Dyche revealed. "It depends how he fits into the group and understands it.
"We wanted to operate as we did last season (but) having a bit more flexibility tactically. Vyds is someone who can create and score from that position.
"That's a different kind of player, but then he's got to understand the work side of the Premier League and our group."
Jon Walters is expected to leave Turf Moor before the closing of the loan window, leaving Dyche with Vydra, Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes and Sam Vokes to call upon.
On paper, Vydra would be a good fit alongside a Wood or a Vokes, but it remains to be seen how Dyche will choose to use the front man in the coming weeks and months.
