It took just nine minutes for Vinicius to open the scoring at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Real Madrid striker's beautiful chip went into the net as Rui Silva could do nothing to save the ball. Minutes later Betis equalised thanks to a goal from Canales.

Real Madrid could not have got off to a better start in their first game of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu. In front of their home fans, facing Betis, the 'Merengues' needed just nine minutes to score the first goal of the match.

Practically half the goal was thanks to David Alaba, who while still in his own half, found Vinicius with space with a lovely pass. The Brazilian drove the ball several metres and once in front of Rui Silva he made a perfect chip to give the home side the lead.

Minutes later Betis equalised thanks to a goal from Canales. Alex Moreno, through a throw in, found Borja Iglesias inside the box. The striker passed the ball to Canales who beat Courtois at the near post.

A hard fought first half at the Bernabeu. Both teams are level on points at the top of the La Liga standings.
