On Thursday, Club América and León faced eachother at the Spartan Stadium in San Jose, California for a pre-season friendly. The side from Mexico City came out 5-2 winners.
Club América raced into a 4-0 lead before half time with Richard Sanchez scoring the openener before a Diego Valdes brace and a Roger Martinez goal. In the second half, León's Santiago Colombatto netted three minutes after the break before Alejandro Zendejas regained Club América's four goal cushion. There was time for another consolation goal for León however. Oscar Villa scored in the 78th minute.
