The 'Reds' put themselves in a prime position to secure Champions League football for next season on Thursday night. Following Chelsea's slip up against Arsenal on Wednesday, Liverpool needed a result against rivals Man United in a re-arranged fixture due to fan protests at Old Trafford the first time around.

After a nervy start to the game which saw Fernandes open the scoring for the hosts, Liverpool soon took control and eventually took home all three points. Goals from Jota, Salah and a brace from 'Bobby' Firmino led Liverpool to a 4-2 victory, to pile the pressure on Chelsea in fourth

Liverpool are still four points off Thomas Tuchel's side, however they have a game in hand which they play against West Brom on Sunday. Victory there will move them within one point of the Champions League places, with Chelsea and Leicester to play each other the following Tuesday.
