Tottenham won for the first time in six matches as Richarlison's double inspired a 4-1 rout of dismal Newcastle on Sunday. Udogie put Tottenham ahead in the first half in north London and Brazil striker Richarlison doubled the lead before the break.
The Brazilian netted again in the second half and Son Heung-min converted a late penalty as fifth-placed Tottenham moved within three points of fourth-placed Manchester City. Joelinton's goal in the final seconds was no consolation for outclassed Newcastle.
"Obviously, when you’re winning the game you enjoy it more. Bouncing back like that was important, we don’t want to make mistakes. I hope we can continue to perform like this and stay humble," Son told reporters on his teammate Richarlison.
"I said it before, we have to be more ruthless in their box, especially when they drop deep. You also have to be clinical. Beating Newcastle 4-1 is not easy, they are a strong side. Credit to the players and fans," he continued.
The Spurs skipper went on to add: "We are playing in the Premier League and we have to demand more and more. It is never enough, look at the amazing teams, they keep going and going. Today was another good lesson."
