Sao Paulo hosted Palmeiras in a Brasileirao clash on Friday night.
After a goalless first half at the Estadio Morumbi, the hosts were awarded a penalty 16 minutes from time. Luciano da Rocha converted it to put them 1-0 up. However, Rony levelled in the 93rd minute for Palmeiras thanks to a move which began thanks to coach Abel Ferreira passing the ball to one of his Palmeiras players to help take the free-kick quickly. The equaliser left Sao Paulo six points behind leaders Internacional with two games left and as the top two have to face each other, Sao Paulo cannot win the league.
