Despite this dazzling individual performance, Sao Paulo got off to a poor start when Eder Ferreira put Atletico 1-0 up within 23 minutes. This didn't get much better in the second half, however, as Joao Paulo's strike 11 minutes from time doubled his side's advantage and effectively killed off the game as a contest. 

The match ended 2-0, putting Atletico all the way into third with maxium points from two games. Sao Paulo, meanwhile, sit down in 15th, after managing just one point from a possible six.
