Porto faced Juventus in a Champions League last 16 tie which had absolutely everything.
Porto hosted the first leg on 17th February and won 2-1. Mehdi Taremi made it 1-0 after just two minutes and Moussa Marega doubled the Portuguese side's advantage seconds into the second half,. Federico Chiesa got Juve an important away goal eight minutes from time to take into the second leg. That goal meant the Italians needed just one goal to go through.
The second leg took place on 9th March in Turin and despite Juve's 3-2 win after extra-time, they were eliminated on away goals. Sergio Oliviera converted a 19th minute penalty for the visitors and then Federico Chiesa made it 1-1. Taremi of Porto was sent off in the 54th minute for kicking the ball away and Chiesa put Juve 2-1 ahead after 63 minutes. No further goals meant the tie went to extra-time and 10 man Porto scored through Oliveira after the free-kick went through the Italian wall. Adrien Rabiot replied instantly for Juve, but they needed another goal.
