Both Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso chose to return to their former club Lyon, this summer transfer window.
Lacazette left Arsenal, a club where he had been at for the past five years, on a free transfer. Since joining the 'gunners' from Lyon in July 2017, the striker made 206 appearances in all competitions, scoring 71 goals and leaving North London as a fan favourite. Tolisso similarly left former club Bayern Munich on a free transfer, also after having spent five years at the club in Germany before returning to Lyon.
Tolisso did not feature much for Bayern, but leaves having won 13 titles, including the Champions League, the European Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2020. Tolisso also won the Bundesliga five times, the German Cup twice and the German Supercup three times, and last but not least, the 2018 World Cup with France.
Both players return to France and hope to secure Champions League football for next season.
