England faced Spain in a Euro 2022 quarter-final on Wednesday.
The Spaniards got off to a strong start at the AMEX Stadium in Brighton, but neither side were able to break the deadlock in the first period. Athenea del Castillo came on for Spain at half-time and she caused havoc every time Spain attacked. She was key to Spain opening the scoring as she made a great run past Daly before laying off to Esther Gonzalez who netted after 54 minutes. Ella Toone levelled for England in the 84th minute despite Spain wanting a foul on Irene Paredes and then, in extra-time, Georgia Stanway scored to give England victory.
After the match, England manager Sarina Wiegman spoke to the media and you can listen to her comments in the video above! England will now face Sweden or Belgium in the first semi-final on Tuesday in Sheffield. Those two face off this Friday in Leigh.
