Eddie Howe confirmed at a press conference that Newcastle's summer signing Harvey Barnes will be out for around three months with a toe injury.
The winger joined the Magpies from relegated Leicester in a deal worth a reported £38 million. The England player signed a five-year contract with the St James Park outfit.
Undoubtedly bad news for a Newcastle side that did not have a good start to the season but after stringing together three consecutive wins have moved up to eighth in the Premier League table with 12 points.
