Back in 2006, Rafa Benitez's Liverpool side met West Ham in the final of the FA Cup. The match ended 3-3 after extra time and the Reds eventually won it on penalties.
West Ham took the lead in the match after a Jamie Carragher own goal broke the deadlock in the first half. Moments after that, the Hammers extended their lead when Ashton slotted a shot underneath Reina. However, shortly after, Dijibril Cisse pulled one back for the Reds. In the 54th minute of the game, Gerrard levelled it, but soon after West Ham got their noses in front again through a Paul Konchesky goal. Gerrard scored his second (and famous) goal of the game in additional time to again level the match.
The final went to extra time but neither team managed to score so the match was decided via a penalty shootout. Liverpool came out the victors. Take a look Gerrard remembering the historic game in the video here!
