Following England's crushing 4-0 win over Sweden, a result that sent the hosts into the final of the Women's European Championship, Beth Mead, scorer of the opening goal and scorer of two assists, spoke at a press conference.
Mead was very proud of her team: "When the third goal went in, you start believing but it's a bit blurry after that - what an incredible night and atmosphere again, I'm just very proud to be English right now".
She also highlighted the quality of Sarina Wiegman as coach: "She is an incredible coach and person, and she has brought a great atmosphere and spirit to the team. There is a lot of clarity in the way we play. As I said in an interview, we always have several plans during the game.
"We all know how we play and the way we are playing now is very good. She makes it very easy to be part of this team. I would say it's the spirit of the team. We've always known we had talent, but I think the spirit and belief we have as a team and the unity is second to none. We feel that both on and off the field," Mead said.
