Dayot Upamecano has managed to set his place in France's starting eleven and, on the eve of their World Cup clash against England, the Bayern defender analysed his team's chances and denied argument with Kylian Mbappe, with whom he was seen in the match against Poland.
"I didn't put him in his place, I simply told him to close the flank, that's all. I see the game as a defender, that's what I do at Bayern Munich and also here. But he can also give me advice," the player explained.
Upamecano assured that they will "prepare a plan" to counterattack England, a team that, he said, "have a great level and great players".
His teammate Youssou Fofana also spoke about Mbappe, who he said "is focused" before the meeting: "Kylian doesn't read the press. If he knows how to stop him, good for him. In Ligue 1, 19 teams haven't found the solution and others in the Champions League," he responded to Kyle Walker.
