Manchester United are to unlock a clause in order to tie down four players. It all started with Ed Woodward, and it is called the '3+1' rule.
Thanks to this, the Red Devils will be able to extend Rashford, Shaw, Daot and Fred's contract because of this clause. These players were due to end their contracts in 2023, and whichever club who was interested in them will have to wait a bit longer.
For Rashford, PSG were one of the ones who wanted to get the English striker on board. In fact, Luis Campos had reportedly considered offering €44 million for the striker.
Diogo Dalot, who is wanted by Real Madrid and Barcelona will also have to wait another year to leave United. The Portuguese man was also linked with Milan.
As for Fred and Shaw, there was not a whole host of clubs interested in them. Ten Hag has wanted to reward their hard work during these months with a contract extension.
