In Spain there is no talk of anything else and now it seems that this will make headlines in Switzerland as well. The 'Negreira affaire' will investigated by UEFA.
In a statement, the body chaired by Alexander Ceferin informed that it has opened an investigation "into a possible violation of UEFA's legal framework by FC Barcelona in relation to the so-called 'Negreira affaire".
"In accordance with Article 31(4) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, the UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspectors have been appointed to carry out an investigation," UEFA added, explaining that the enquiries will begin on Wednesday.
UEFA wants to know what is behind the whole affair and whether the rules have been breached in any way. It has already set to work to find out the details of this case, which is also being investigated by the Spanish justice system.
He promises to provide more information as the investigation progresses. "More information will be forthcoming in due course," he says.
