Raúl González Blanco has been one of the great players of the Spanish national team between the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. However, the former Real Madrid striker left empty-handed with 'la Roja'.
Shortly after Luis Aragones stopped calling him up, the Spanish national team began its glorious era, winning the 2008 and 2012 Euros and the 2010 World Cup.
But the former striker left his mark. At least that is the testimony of Thomas Müller, one of Germany's best players of the last decade.
The official Euro 2020 profile published a question on social media asking who was the best player to have represented Spain.
Far from saying Xavi, Iniesta, Fernando Torres or Villa, all heroes in winning titles, or Sergio Ramos, a legend of 'la Roja', Müller chose Raúl González Blanco.
