The German giants scored a Champions League joint-record eight goals against the Polish side, but looked shaky at the back as the Polish side replied with four goals of their own.
"I'm very surprised how this match developed," he told Dortmund's official website. "We were dominant at every stage, and I also always felt we were going to win the game.
"But I was also sure that we were not going to concede four times. We wanted to keep a clean sheet in the second half, but Legia also managed to score three times against Real Madrid.
"It goes to show you can't underestimate any opponent in the Champions League. It's difficult to analyse objectively. This match is tough to evaluate at first glance.
"We will have to discuss the glaring mistakes that we are making. Both in one-on-one challenges and in shoring the defence up to deal with counters".
