In the 2020/21 season, Kimpembe was a stallwart in PSG's starting eleven, playing 40 matches across all competitions and starting all but three of them. But things could well well change for 2021/22.
PSG completed the signing of Sergio Ramos and Kimpembe fears that he may take his place in the team. With a centre-back of his level and experience, the competition for places will be high. In fact, the stats favour the Spaniard - in his most difficult year, surgery included, his numbers were still better than those of Kimpembe and Marquinhos.
Despite being contracted at the club until 2024, Kimpembe could be considering packing his bags this very summer, as he doesn't want to spend half the season warming the bench.
According to 'L'Equipe', Chelsea would be willing to offer Kimpembe this starting role that he is demanding. Thomas Tuchel, who worked with the Frenchman during his time at PSG, knows the player's potential well and would have a spot for him in his back line
The French newspaper indicates that those at Stamford Bridge are alert to the situation. The moment that Kimpembe requests to leave, they will go all out for the CB.
