In the 2021-22 season, Trincao played on loan at Wolves. He has played 30 matches (16 as a starter), scored three goals and given an assist. Now, it is time for him to return to the Camp Nou.
Barcelona are not very clear what they want to do with him. Sporting Lisbon are following him closely and Trincao has asked the La Liga side to let him go. He is refusing to spend next season on the bench as he wants game time.
'Sport' says that Trincao will do everything he can to go to Sporting. If he has to get less money, he will accept that. The 22 year-old does not want his salary to prevent him from moving to the Portuguese club. The only thing he is bothered about is playing regularly.
At Barca, at least for now, they are not very clear what to do with Trincao. If they let him leave, the previously cited source says Barcelona want to sell him. Sporting CP, however, are interested in a loan deal with an option to buy.
Sporting's finances will not allow them to meet Barca's demands. Sporting are willing to give in, but up to a certain point: They would pay up to 20 million euros for Trincao's buyout clause.
In any case, Barca will not decide anything until they know what Dembele's decision is. If he finally does not renew and no reinforcement like Raphinha can be found, the club could decide to keep Trincao and give him the protagonism he demands, even if that means he cannot move to Lisbon.
