According to reports from 'L'Equipe', the executive committee of the FFF, which includes president Philippe Diallo, have decided to name French footballing icon Thierry Henry as the new coach of France's Under-23 team.
The former Arsenal striker takes over from Sylvain Ripoll who was sacked following a string of disappointing performances, most recently in the European Championships in 2023.
Henry, who hasn't coached since he left Montreal in 2021, will take charge of one of the most talented generations France has seen in a long time.
A star-studded squad led by names like Khephren Thuram, Rayan Cherki, Elye Wahi, and Michael Olise among others, many of the young talents have surpassed their young age and already have a wealth of experience in Europe's top leagues.
'Les Bleus' former top scorer, who is currently a consultant and pundit with 'CBS Sports' and 'Amazon Prime', will leave his TV roles to coach 'Les Bleuets' until 2025. His first task will be to find success at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
