Thiago Silva, the key to Kimpembe's signing

The arrival of the new owner at Chelsea has activated all possible ways to strengthen the squad for the 2022-23 season. One of the lines that will undergo the most changes is the defence, where the departure of Rudiger has already been confirmed and names such as Marcos Alonso and Christensen could be on the way out.

The English club main target since last season has been Jules Kounde. However, the board have also considered the possibility of bringing in Kimpembe, who has a contract until 2024 with PSG.

According to 'France Football', this is where Thiago Silva, the Frenchman's former team-mate at Paris, comes into play. The Brazilian centre-back is reportedly trying to convince the Frenchman of the new London project.

Kimpembe is a long-standing Chelsea target and could get their goal this summer. The PSG defender is an undisputed starter in Pochettino's plans, having made 41 appearances in total, almost 100 per cent of them as a starter.
