He seems to be flourishing under Javi Gracia, with the Spanish manager describing him as more of a typical Spanish than English player given his impressive technical skills.
Although he admits himself that he is not the most physical player, Hughes has completed the most tackles in the Premier League this season at 15, showing that he is growing in to a more complete midfielder.
After the hype of being called in to the England U-21 squad at 17, to his move to the Premier League last season, he never quite seemed to be hitting his stride. That is definitely not the case this season.
