Napoli's only motivation for training these days is the second leg of the Champions League against Barça. After the suspension of the Serie A until new warning by the pandemic of the coronavirus, the Italians have only one thing to focus on: European competitions.
The health alert has led to the lockdown of the entire country, where it is recommended not to leave home. In the meantime, Napoli is working in awareness of the risk of contagion, so a protocol has been imposed to reach Camp Nou safely.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has published this week the manual, which consists of seven rules that the team directed by Gennaro Gattuso is already complying with on a daily basis:
1. Do not leave the house.
The club recommends that its players only leave their homes to go to training.
2. Do not go to restaurants.
Directly related to the above. Not only is direct contact with more people a concern, but also the food they may eat and who has manipulated it.
3. Training sessions of less than two hours.
This has been recommended by specialists in player health.
4. Showers in small groups.
To avoid contagion, players will wash in separate changing rooms.
5. No more joint lunches.
The staff used to eat together after all the training sessions. With this new scenario, that's over.
6. Leave the training facilities as soon as possible.
The club wants to protect the working space of the first team and one of the measures is that the players spend as little time as possible in the facilities.
7. No meetings.
All meetings have been cancelled, which if done, will be through video conferences or by phone.
