Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea have themselves enjoyed European success in the past, but they do not boast the highest number of Champions League winners in the Premier League.
Chelsea have four previous champions, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Alvaro Morata (2) and Pedro (3), while Manchester City have three, Claudio Bravo, Danilo and Yaya Toure.
Manchester United only have two players who have experienced continental glory, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata, and Daniel Sturridge is the only Champions League medal holder currently at Anfield.
However, the team who boast more winners of the European Cup in the Premier League is, rather surprisingly, Stoke City. Never having played in the competition themselves, the side managed by Mark Hughes has five players plying their trade at Stoke City.
New signing Jese Rodriguez joins Bojan, Xherdan Shaqiri, Ibrahim Afellay and Darren Fletcher, Stoke's five players who have lifted the coveted trophy in their careers. An unlikely stat that speaks volumes of the lack of European success in the Premier League.
