In a matter of days, as long as their is not a dramatic change in plans, Manchester City will sign Kalvin Phillips and Leeds will take Darko Gyabi. This is part of a deal in which the paperwork has already been signed, according to Fabrizio Romano. City are free to officially announce the transfer of the Leeds player.
He comes to the Etihad Stadium for a fee of around 45 million pounds. This is the same figure that was used in Arsenal's transfer of ex-City man Gabriel Jesus. Adding to this, the Phillips deal will also involve the sale of youngster Darko Gyabi for just six million pounds, meaning that City will earn 6 million as part of the deal.
This makes sense, because the club's bank account took a hit after the Erling Haaland transfer from Dortmund. There is still a lot of summer left to be able to close deals and if Pep would like to strengthen any areas, it would be in midfield.
Fabrizio claims that Kalvin Phillips rejected two offers in favour of joining Manchester City. He really wants to join the Premier League champions' project, which is now focused on winning the Champions League next season.
