Goalkeeper: Salvatore Sirigu (Torino)
The former PSG and Sevilla 'keeper spent two season with Palermo in Serie A, with his fine performances earning him a €3.9m move to the French capital.
Defender: Andrea Barzagli (Juventus)
Albeit the least popular member of Juve's celebrated defence, he continues to compete at the highest level. Barzagli spent four seasons in Sicily over a decade ago, arriving in 2004/05 before joining Wolfsburg in 2008 for €14m.
Defender: Kamil Glik (Monaco)
The Monaco defender spent a brief spell with Palermo, joining the club in 2010 from Piast Gliwice, before heading to Torino just a year later.
Defender: Simon Kjaer (Sevilla)
The Sevilla defender was with the Sicilian side between 2008 and 2010 before heading to the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg in a €12m deal.
Defender: Matteo Darmian (Manchester United)
Palermo brought the versatile defender from AC Milan for just €800,000 before he moved to Turin with Torino two years later for €1.8m.
Midfielder: Josip Ilicic (Atalanta)
The Slovenian starred for Palermo for three season following his arrival in a €2.3m deal from Maribor. His excellent performances led to a €9m move to Fiorentina in 2013.
Midfielder: Javier Pastore (PSG)
The PSG star was one of the Parisians' first signings when the Qatari money flowed in, costing the club €42m in 2011, just two years after Palermo had snapped him up for €7m.
Midfielder: Franco Vazquez (Sevilla)
Another good piece of business from the Italians saw them sign Vazquez from Belgrano in 2012 for €4.5m, before selling him on to Sevilla in 2016 for €14.2m.
Forward: Paulo Dybala (Juventus)
Palermo also had the honour of one of the best players on the planet playing for them in his earlier years. Dybala was linked with a move to Barca in the summer after establishing himself as one of Serie A's brightest lights. He represented a significant outlay for the Sicilians, costing €11.9m, but they made that back and then some when they sold the Argentine to Juventus in 2015 for €40m.
Forward: Edinson Cavani (PSG)
Another PSG star who arrived via Sicily. Palermo signed the Uruguayan from Danubio in 2007 for just €5m, before selling him to Napoli in 2010 for €17m. It seemed like a good deal, until he joined PSG three years later for a fee in the region of €64m.
Forward: Andrea Belotti (Torino)
Without doubt one of the best strikers in Serie A in recent years but few realise that he spent time with Palermo. Between 2013 and 2015, he partnered Dybala in attack for the Sicilians, with limited success. Since his €8.4m move to Torino in 2015 he has certainly found his shooting boots though.
