Barcelona stormed the Bernabeu and got a narrow win over Real Madrid (0-1). Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to the microphones on 'Vamos' and gave his thoughts after the 90 minutes.
"The result is very positive, the second leg is still left, we are satisfied with the work, we have neutralised Madrid in their home who usually have a lot of chances and today they didn't have a clear chance until 89 minutes in. It was hard for us up front to win duels to keep the ball in attack," he said.
The Egara native also wanted to highlight his team's capacity for suffering: "We've been showing a lot of solidarity for some time now, and against a top level opponent we didn't have any clear chances, but we can't give the opposing team the upper hand and we're satisfied with the result, but not with the way we played".
However, Xavi continued not to consider themselves favourites despite the victory: "It changes little, it's a certain advantage, but I see this Madrid side as very strong and the second leg at home in front of our fans. If we had lost, I'd say the same thing, we don't play the second leg until next month".
