It was March 2007 and Manchester United faced a trip to arch-rivals Liverpool as they looked to move one step closer to the Premier League title, however, things didn't exactly go to plan for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.
Liverpool dominated for long spells and could and perhaps should have taken the lead on several occasions, with only some profligate finishing, a few outstanding stops from Edwin van der Sar and on one occasion the offside flag helping the 'Red Devils' to maintain parity.
United were fortunate to be level going into the second half but things didn't exactly improve for the visitors at that point. Wayne Rooney limped off with a nasty-looking gashed leg following a high challenge from who else but Jamie Carragher, before referee Martin Atkinson took centre stage.
Paul Scholes and Xabi Alonso had almost come to blows several times during the game as they wrestled to take control of the midfield for their respective sides, but it was the Spaniard who had the last laugh, with Scholes being sent off for raising his hands to Alonso's face, despite their being no contact whatsoever.
Atkinson frustrated United fans further minutes later when he waved away their penalty appeals after Luis Saha tumbled under a challenge from Daniel Agger.
United were never one to give up during that era though and despite missing their talisman and being down to 10 men, they snatched a dramatic late victory when John O'Shea reacted fastest in the box to slam home the rebound after Pepe Reina could only parry Cristiano Ronaldo's free kick.
'The 90th minute at Anfield, in front of the Kop... Gary Neville's just told me that is his dream and I've just gone and done it!' exclaimed O'Shea after the game, barely able to contain his excitement.
