The former defender had good luck messages from a plethora of former team mates for the next step in his life but among those he replied to was that of Diego Costa, who he played with at Chelsea between 2014 and 2017.
The Spanish international congratulated him for his ''fantastic and successful career'', but also left a mischievous message saying that he couldn't ''understand a single world'' that the centre-back said to him.
Now, according to 'Mundo Deportivo' the Chelsea legend ha responded to the 'Atleti' man. ''I have something to say about him. From outside it can appear that there is this perception of arrogance (against him) but he is one of the best players I've come across in football,'' said Terry.
He remembered that Costa turned into a different beast as soon as he got on the pitch: ''On the field he is an absolute animal, in training he would hit you and look at you with this defiant face and make you think ''What have you done that for?'' But then, off the pitch, I have to say he was one of the most charming people you could ever find and know.''
