Mason Mount was signed by Manchester United in the summer transfer window from Chelsea but has yet to make an impact at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old was out of action for several weeks due to injury.
Nonetheless, his coach Erik ten Hag has faith in him and believes the midfielder could play a prominent role in the Manchester outfit's future plans.
"He can be a big part [of what we are creating here]. He can play in that game by supplying, making the connections, making the link-ups for those in the front line. He has abilities to give that [energy] and to supply our front players by combinations," he said.
"Also in his moments of defence transition, in defending and pressing he can be and he is already a great player for us because he puts a lot of effort in. When we get better connections [in the team], that will grow," Ten Hag told reporters at the pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against Brentford.
