With normal time up, Thailand continued fighting for every ball like it was their last despite trailing Sweden 4-0.
Just as it seemed as if they were going to end another game without finding the net, Kanjana Sungngoen latched onto a long through ball down the right, before haring down on goal and firing past Rut Hedvig Lindahl from a tight angle at her near post with a powerful strike.
Although they still trailed 4-1 and are already eliminated from the World Cup, the Thai team celebrated the goal wildly, with tears flowing from members of the bench.
Thailand would then concede another before the end, but their goal came as a big relief after the 13-0 thumping at the hands of the USA last week.
It is worth remembering that although they hadn't scored yet at this tournament, they have already scored three World Cup goals in a 3-2 win against Ivory Coast in 2015.
