Forsberg was the decisive player as his Swedish side edged past their opponents Switzerland in the last-16 round, after his shot was deflected in to the Swiss goal by an opposing defender.
The Scandanavians were the underdogs going in to the game, and many did not believe they would even progress from their group before the tournament began.
However, the RB Lepizig player believes that his nation's performances have proved all of their doubters wrong.
"We're so confident in what we do, if we get it all right, we know we can be really good in both defence and attack so it is paying off and that's really the best testament we can give.
"We know that we are a good team. We're here, we've earned our successes and we know how we've got this far, we've worked this way throughout and we'll continue in the same way,"
Forsberg will face the winners of the game between England and Colombia, but the attacking midfielder does not think that worrying about their opponent will bring yet more success.
"We don't even know what opponent we'll be faced with so that will be the focus of our preparations over the next few days. We'll do our best and then we'll see what happens."
