Swansea hosted Everton at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, and launched their desperate bid for a victory that would move them further from the threat of relegation. They were made to settle, however, with a 1-1 draw.
Carlos Carvalhal's side came flying out of the blocks in the first half, exhibiting pace with plenty of movement off the ball, dominating possession and generally setting a fast tempo of play that Everton struggled to match.
For their part, Everton lacked a degree of urgency and drive in the opening stages of the match whilst Swansea went about exposing the gaps in their defence.
Despite creating several opportunities to score, the Swans were just unable to convert their dominance on the pitch into points on the scoreboard.
Everton were gifted the lead just before the half-time whistle as Kyle Naughton put the ball past his own goalkeeper. The 'Toffees' were unable to improve on their advantage, despite an attempt from Seamus Coleman that ricocheted off the crossbar.
At the other end, the Ayew brothers teamed up numerous times throughout the match to make life difficult for the Everton defence. Their hard work paid off in the 71st as Jordan Ayew equalised for Swansea with a well-deserved goal.
Neither team were able to push ahead in the closing stages of the match, leaving Swansea and Everton both picking up only one point.
