Stoke's Wimmer edges closer to Hannover loan

Wimmer has been somewhat of a misfit for the relegated Premier League side since making a £18million switch from Tottenham last summer.

However, his woes will reportedly soon come to an end as speculation suggests he's nearing in on a temporary move to Hannover.

The Bundesliga club has allegedly agreed to a permanent buy option, available for £11million, a loss for Stoke. 

Wimmer started the season strongly for the 'Potters', featuring 17 times, but failed to play again following the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in January. 

The Austrian will be hoping a change of scenary will restart his career.
