James Maddison had to be substituted in Tottenham's heavy 4-1 defeat to Chelsea after suffering an ankle injury, which was later confirmed to keep him out until 2024.
The England midfielder, speaking to Ben Foster for 'Amazon Prime Video Sport', said his injury is "healing well" and he hopes to be back in six to seven weeks.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was asked about the former Leicester man's comments at his side's pre-match press conference ahead of their Premier League clash with West Ham.
"I'm not sure about James' medical qualifications and whether we should trust his diagnosis in this situation. We should go with the medical staff and as far as I'm aware he's progressing as expected," he said.
