'Sport': Everton on the verge of €32m Mina move

The 'Toffees' are known to be big fans of the strapping centre-back, having tried to bring him to Goodison Park earlier in the summer.

According to the aformentioned source that move is now closer than ever, with the two clubs in advanced talks over a €32m deal.

There had been suggestions that rival interest from Manchester United may have scuppered Everton's chances of signing the Colombian, but it is understood that the 'Red Devils' will pursue other targets ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline for English clubs.

Everton and Barcelona are known to share good relations having negotiated the transfers of Gerard Deulofeu and Lucas Digne in recent times, with the latter having admitted his desire to see Mina link up with him in the Premier League.

Mina shone for his country at the World Cup, scoring three goals in three appearances including the header with took Colombia's last-16 clash with England to extra time.

Despite his obvious talent, Mina has found it hard to adapt to life at Barcelona, for whom the prospect of turning the €12m they paid Fluminense for his services in January into €32m in just seven months is just too good to turn down.
