Sparta Prague win Czech Cup

Sparta, who won their last trophy in 2014, accentuated their dominance in the tournament. After beating Slovan, they have a two title advantage over Slavia Prague, who have won the Czech League.

In the final played at the Stadion u Nisy in Liberec, Sparta capitalised on their reaction in the second half to tie up the win. Vaclav Kotal's side came from behind after Jakub Pesek from a Iman Rondic put Slovan ahead at the start of the second half.

Seven minutes of inspiration from the Gabonese Guelor Kanga radcially changed the sitaution. The African set up up the goal from Sweden's David Moberg Karlsson's in the 65th minute and then scored the winning goal by converting a penalty after a foul inside the box from Milan Knobloch.

Slovan Liberec, who were playing in their fifth final and aspired to win their third Cup, played the last part of the match with one player less due to Iman Rondic getting sent off for a second yellow.
