The year in which Kane began to stand out with Tottenham's first team was also a year in which Roberto Soldado, currently a striker with Granada, was part of the English squad. This is why he was able to give a first-hand account of his achievements in an interview with the TV station 'SER', as well as analysing other areas of current footballing activity.
"I coincided with Kane in his first year and it happened like a rocket, to Adebayor, to Defoe. You could see it coming. As soon as he had minutes in the Europa League...", he said when asked about Harry. This season, he is shining brightly alongside Son as an ideal partner.
Focusing on Spanish football, he analysed the leader of the league, Atleti: "They have players in their squad to spare. They have a great squad and they are serious candidates for the title. Moreover, the arrival of Luis Suárez has given them a plus". And he chose them as the favourite to win the title: "Because of the great advantage they have and because they have experience in the competition and it will be difficult for Atlético to lose points".
The work of his Granada is also being outstanding, of course: "It's hard for me to remember in my whole career a greater complicity with a coach than that of Granada with Diego Martinez. Last year was excellent. This season, we're trying to play two competitions in the best way. In Europe, we are doing very well in a very difficult group. In the league, our motto is 'eternal struggle' and we are proving it.
About his coach, he added: "The coach emphasises a lot the details: attitude, concentration... In that type of things, we cannot fail. I have fun and we are working very hard because we know perfectly what to do in every game".
By the way, he analysed the stormy situation of one of his former teams, Valencia: "It makes me very angry because the team belonged to his people, it was in his hands, and it is no longer like that. It's what I feel most sorry for. As in football, money rules, the club has stopped being his hobby".
