Ligue 1 suffered yet another instance of crowd trouble last weekend. In the match involving fierce rivals Lyon and Marseille, Dimitri Payet was struck by a bottle when he was about to take a corner.
The consequences for Lyon were clears and Lyon's stadium will be closed to supporters until the investigation has been completed.
After identifying and arresting the person who threw the bottle against the Marseille star, the next step is for the act to be punished and 'RMC Sport' says he has been given a six month jail sentence.
The prosecutor has also requested the spectator to be banned from football matches for five years following the incident. That punishment has also been applied.
France are looking to put an end to this kind of trouble which has blighted Ligue 1 all season.
