Sevilla and Atletico are in contention to sign Ivan Ilic

Spanish clubs have started to shape their respective squads for next season. Without going any further, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid could go for the same signing in this transfer market.

According to what 'Estadio Deportivo' reported, the Andalusian and Madrid clubs will compete for the transfer of Ivan Ilic, a Serbian midfielder, just 21 years old, who is coming off the back of a great season with Hellas Verona.

Ilic came through the ranks at Crvena Zvezda in his native country and was later recruited by Manchester City. He spent time on loan at various clubs until the Italian side acquired his permanent move for a fee of 7.5 million two seasons ago.

However, his arrival in Spanish football will be far from easy due to his high transfer fee. The midfielder is valued at 25 million euros and neither of the two teams would be willing to pay that amount of money.

But that's not all, City still have an option to buy him back for 20 million euros. Therefore, if the Serbian continues to excel at Hellas Verona, it is likely that the Citizens will try to sign him again in the near future.
