Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico is "evolving favourably" in the ICU of the Virgen del Rocio Hospital in Seville and has been "completely withdrawn" from sedation by the team of intensivists who are treating him for the serious head injuries caused by a horse kicking him in the Romeria del Rocio (Huelva).
The condition of the Sevillian goalkeeper, "however, remains serious and he continues to be hospitalised in the ICU, where he is being cared for by a multidisciplinary team of specialists", reported the Seville hospital on Wednesday, which will issue a new medical report on Friday.
The 29-year-old Sergio Rico has been in the Virgen del Rocío Hospital for 11 days since a horse caused him serious head injuries during the Romeria del Rocio.
The goalkeeper's wife, Alba Silva, recently expressed her gratitude for the affection that everyone is showing Sergio Rico. "We are still fighting together to win this battle," she said.
