FC Seoul's attempt at trying to add some colour to the stands backfired. In their match against Gwangju in the South Korean League, all the talk was not on the football, but on the sex dolls in the stands.
Few were talking about their team's 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Han Chan-Hee, but the image the club projected to the world. The intention was apparently to fill the stands with mannequins like in other countries. But something obviously went wrong.
Seoul ended up being supported by girls, some of them with very notable breasts, wearing a mask and even with messages from their sponsor.
According to the club's statement on social media post game to apologise, it was apparently a misunderstanding with the sponsor which meant those sex dolls were sent instead of normal mannequins.
They said these were not the dolls they had asked for. "We are very worried about what happened with the dolls we put in the stands and we're really sorry," the statement added. They also said they would investigate who was responsible and see what measures needed taking.
