Scotland confirms Tierney's departure from the EURO

Scotland defender Kieran Tierney, who spent last season with Real Sociedad, left his national team's Euro 2024 training camp on Friday due to an injury sustained in Wednesday's match against Switzerland, from which he was stretchered off in the 60th minute of the game.

"Whether here or at home, you’re always a big part of this Scotland team, Kieran Tierney. Kieran leaves camp due to injury and will return to Arsenal for further assessment," the Scottish Football Association said on Friday.

Tierney injured his left leg in a defensive challenge on Wednesday, was treated by medics on the pitch and stretchered off from the Cologne Arena pending further assessment of the extent of the injury, which has finally ruled him out of the European Championship.

The full-back, who played last season for Real Sociedad on loan from Arsenal, had started Steve Clarke's first two Euro 2024 games in the 5-1 defeat to Germany and the 1-1 draw with Switzerland.
