Spain started the game well against Switzerland. Luis Enrique's men knew how important it was to get the three points in Geneva and they were not at all hesitant in the early stages of the game.
In one of their first real chances, Sarabia gave Spain the lead. A defensive error by the Swiss in defence alowed Marcos Llorente to win the ball back and run towards an opponent.
The Atletico Madrid footballer went towards the by-line and put a strong and low cross into the heart of the penalty area. The number 22 was there and he got ahead of his marker to send the ball into the back of the net.
However, the referee had to wait for VAR to check for a possible offside. After a check which lasted a few minutes, the goal counted as Sarabia was behind the ball.
