Arsenal's poor start to the season has gone from bad to worse after Alexis Sanchez suffered an ankle injury whilst training with Chile.
Sanchez looked as if he was going to leave Arsenal this summer, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, but a deadline day move to Manchester City fell through as Arsene Wenger was unable to line up a replacement for the Chile international.
While the international break may have come at a good time for the Gunners, giving Wenger time to rally his troops, they could now be without their star man.
According to 'Bio Bio Chile', the 28-year-old is a major doubt for his side's crucial match against Bolivia on Tuesday, and 'El Mercurio' reported that he left training with an ice pack around his left ankle.
The national team's medical staff will assess the former Barcelona man's injury before any decision is made - but they are reportedly hopeful that he could still feature.
Sanchez's Chile side currently sit in the last of four automatic places in the South American World Cup qualifying group, level with fifth placed Argentina on 23 points.
